LG officially unveiled its 2026 OLED TV lineup at CES, and as expected, the LG C6 is shaping up to be one of the most important TVs of the year. Sitting between the entry-level B-series and the premium G-series, the C-series has long been LG’s sweet spot, a consumer favorite.

While LG hasn’t confirmed an exact release date yet, we now have a clear picture of when to expect the LG C6, what it brings to the table, and how it differs from last year’s C5. Here’s everything we know so far.

LG C6 OLED TV release date window & launch history

LG has not announced a specific release date for the C6 OLED TV. That said, the company follows a very consistent launch schedule for its OLED lineup year after year.

Historically, LG’s C-series OLED TVs arrive in late March or early April, following their CES reveal in January. The LG C5 followed this exact pattern last year, with early shipments beginning at the end of March and broader availability rolling out shortly after.

Based on this established release cycle, we expect the LG C6 OLED TV to launch in late March or early April 2026, though this remains an estimate until LG provides official confirmation.

  • LG C5: April 2025
  • LG C4: March 2024
  • LG C3: March 2023
  • LG C2: March 2022

LG C6 vs C5: what’s different?

The LG C5 was widely regarded as one of the most well-rounded OLED TVs of 2025, and for good reason. It delivered excellent picture quality, strong gaming performance, and noticeable gains to SDR brightness, all while retaining the familiar C-series design and feature set that most buyers are already comfortable with.

However, despite those improvements, the C5 was ultimately a refinement rather than a major leap. It used the same underlying WOLED panel technology as the previous generation, with brightness gains largely driven by processing and software tweaks rather than new hardware. While that made it a great TV in isolation, the upgrade case over older models wasn’t especially strong, particularly once prices began to fall.

The LG C6 builds on that foundation, but introduces a more meaningful split in the lineup. Smaller sizes continue to use a traditional WOLED panel, much like the C5, while the 77-inch and 83-inch models step up to LG’s new Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel. This change is expected to bring improved brightness, efficiency, and color volume on larger screens, areas where the C5 saw only modest gains.

LG has also moved to a newer processor for 2026, which should offer incremental improvements to picture processing, AI features, and gaming responsiveness. Combined with higher refresh-rate support and the continued focus on HDMI 2.1 gaming features, the C6 looks set to be a more compelling option for buyers targeting larger displays.
